Sanjis decisions

I was having this conversation in the other forum so I thought it's interesting to discuss this here too. Don't you think sanjis decisions are foolish? He ditched everyone and went with big mom's cronies and now all the crew of in danger trying to rescue him.
He could have taken down that tamago Baron if he tried hard but he let it go and just went with him
 
I don't remember the circumstances but at that time, if sanji didn't take that decision, then nami, usopp and others might have gotten hurt badly. He is not exactly a fool.
 
If you're curious as to why and how, just reread the arc where Robin did the same thing and for mostly the same reasons as Sanji did. Kind of surprised Oda didn't get more heat for reusing an arc idea.

Robin's circumstances are different and she did that to protect herself too but in the end she decided to stick with the straw hats and asked for their help. Sami would never ask for help. Ever
