I feel very blind, and it's possible I just missed it, but is there a topic listing the rules of this forum somewhere?

Advertising is strictly prohobited here(except for the advertising section).

No spamming, trolling, no advertising till you have 100 posts, and you can adververtise only by creating a thread in the 'Advertising Section', no curse words, and no sexist, racist, bla bla posts............

Ya'll should probably make a rules topic, if you really want your members to follow them. Otherwise, it comes off as a pretty free reign, do what you want forum. It's very misleading.

The rule regarding advertising is already there and the other rules are something that's followed in almost all the forums..........Nonetheless, we'll create a thread............

Then would you like to point me to where the advertising thing is stated? Because my thread was asking where I can find these rules and yet I have not been directed to anywhere.

And, no. I have been going on various forums for well over 10 years now. Every forum is different with their rules. Some rules stay the same, such as no flaming, but there are a bunch of other rules that different. Some forums don't care if you advertise in your sig. Some forums don't care if you cuss, so long as you aren't blatantly putting 50 cuss words into one post. Some forums have no specification on spamming (and some even have a spam section dedicated to it). Some forums don't care if you post porn while some forums state nothing sexual is allowed to be posted. Some forums their rules state their content is rated R/M and not appropriate for all audiences; while some forums state you are not allowed to post anything about PG13.

As you see from the member who first replied to this thread, without a rules page, topic, etc. members, especially new ones who don't know you personally, have NO reason to know there are any rules. You cannot enforce rules you do not publicly present. That is only going to drive members away, because punishing them for something the staff members neglected to properly instate is not the fault of the members. That is the fault of the staff.

Mind you, the 10+ years of forum experience is also from being an admin, moderator, co-admin, creator, owner, and various other staff positions on a LOT of forums. Mind you, forums that were successful in their time or are successful still. I'm not just pulling this out of my butt.

The forums that fell apart were the ones without a proper foundation, i.e. RULES.
