Remake doing better than original?

does it happen often?
why would remake get a better rating than the previous release? i watched hunter x hunter and it's remake is very good

Because remake is usually a cosmetics project, they re-animate old animation with most recent one to make them more relevant, so it certainly looks more appealing to catch new audiences and wave of momentum. That's how they get better rating (maybe)

you might be right about it.
i didn't think the appeal part. may be it's true but people who watched it for the first time, watch the remake. there shouldn't be many people

Not always unfortunately.
Some remakes are very bad. I don't remember the name but I have dropped an anime remake before. It was really bad.

It's a really vague thing. You can get examples for either side. The most popular examples are obviously HxH and FMA.

for those two series when the prequels are very popular.
how sequels are even better

The most stupid answer people give is that they completely adapt the manga. I'm anyway planning on watching the original FMA since that was the anime that truly really became popular, way before the manga was close to being complete.

but after fmab you might not like it.
if you have watched fma first, you might have liked it but it's inferior to fmab

I mean by the time I watch it enough time would have passed. Plus without even watching FMA it's evident that FMAB is rushed in the first 10 episodes because it wanna gets through whatever FMA covered quickly and get to unadapted material.

I'm interested to see how FMA covers it, most people say it's done a lot better here.
Nina and Shou Tucker's storyline for example took one episode in FMAB and I didn't really care honestly. It was messed up, but I didn't care.

fma doesn't have enough comedy
it's very dark and i can't watch it for a second time . it's very sad

Not really there's a lot of goofy scenes, I watched a couple of videos on YouTube and for a time my timeline was filled with FMAB videos and all of them were funny stuff.

i wasn't talking about fmab
it was fma and it's not as good as fmab for comedy. i think i am missing something but i can't explain it very well
