Predicting a character's death in anime

some characters are just designed to die for the plot like ace from one place.
i don't like them but i pity them a lot

Yeah Jiraiya for starters. L's death was foreshadowed well. I just don't like it when a show becomes a trainwreck like Akame ga Kill.

how could you have predicted jirayiya's death?
i was thinking he would have become the hokage after tsunade's death and his death caught me by surprise

His conversation with Tsunade rang all sorts of death flags. I mean I didn't predict it but I did think there was a slight chance that he could die.

i was thinking he is being dramatic and pein being the good guy who knew jirayiya shouldn't have killed him

Yeah. Itachi is an obvious one it was all about when he's gonna die. The only death that came out of left field was Neji's.

i expected that death and by the time of naruto's past, we know that minato will be dead too and it's no surprise. neji's death was bad but it is needed for a war arc

Could have been done better especially when written by someone who has historically done death scenes in a great way(be it Sarutobi, Jiraiya, Itachi, Pein, Minato, Kushino, etc).

it's popular because of the unexpectedness.
you can't predict it and it became a popular event and may be they are waiting for that surprise

His death itself was silly though he was killed by a bunch of sticks both he and Naruto could have easily evaded them. Or use Gentle Fist or the Eight Trigrams technique.

i understand that but as i mentioned it might be like a surprise element.
people would want some unpredictable moments in any anime

Usually I can tell, unless a series like Hero's Tale pulls a dick move and just doesn't kill them, even though they are one foot in the grave.

What would be the fun in predicting a character's death? We could always see how the story is progressing and main protagonist needs a push in life to become stronger than he was before.

I agree, most tend though to give some kind of hint of what is about to happen and can be better when it happens out of the blue.
