popularity for anime and manga

which do you think is more popular? i think it's anime but many people in japan like manga too and one piece manga sales surprise me a lot. what do you think?

Anime would be more expensive because it's animated.  Nonetheless, that doesn't necessarily mean people buy more manga.  

OK, well, anime might not be more expensive than manga.  It just seems that way from one angle.

I think they are both popular in their own way, since there always seems to be a need for a manga even if a anime came first, I'm going to say manga is more popular.

I believe we already have a thread about this. Both are equally popular in their own right.
You can't just pick one and state that it is better than the other.

I think anime is more popular. Getting an anime for a manga, is a big deal in Japan.
