Asuna was fine in the first arc but the moron who wrote SAO literally caged her in the second arc it was pathetic.

Nah she fought plenty of people in Aincrad. It's in Alfheim arc that she sits inside of a jail waiting to get molested.

i don't remember much from it. but i remember thinking she is similar to orihime

Not season 2. Alfheim is the second half of Season 1. Aincrad is the first 14 episodes.

And you meant SAO right?

I have dropped SAO and it's been a very long time since I have watched Bleach.

If I recall right she did make some attempts of escaping but otherwise was mostly rendered helpless?

No she was as good as Kirito during Aincrad arc in swordsmanship, that was just bad writing.
