even though luffy want to become a pirate king, he couldn't hurt shanks. i came up with this theory where shanks die while battling with marines or black beard. it would make a good impression on people

it wouldn't be easy. luffy is weak for affection and shanks made him for what he is now. it will be tough is he really gets to battle with shanks. he is like a father to luffy

Luffy punched his grandfather, he will take on Shanks without issue.

that grandfather tried to kill his brother and it would be different with shanks. out of his own ambition he can't take down shanks like that. it would be too hard for him

well, indeed he intends to fight. but people wouldn't want that to happen at all. i will fucking hate if he try to beat up shanks and drop this anime altogether.
 
I pretty much promise you they will fight since it will be how Luffy shows Shanks how strong he and his generation is, which would have been worthwhile for Shanks to give up his arm for.
 
There are so many rumors revolving around everyone else and shanks being the figurehead in achieving one piece for luffy, is one of those theories. I wouldn't say I don't expect them to fight till the end.
 
i don't get why people think shanks is more important. he was protective of luffy but now, it might not be like that anymore.

@MadaraUchiha can you move this to one piece section?
