Doflamingo turned out to be a string clone. A string clone can do string bullet attacks which can take down moocy, also know as the shinnigami in the Colosseum.
The trap is quite obvious and luffy couldn't even figure that out. "Elephant gun-the deperate attack" makes you feel that, the attack is going to be launched at doflamingo but in reality that attack is used to create a short cut which is quite surprising.
On the other hand bortolomeo's behavior can be termed as quite outrageous. As he can't create a barrier during the flight, he is trying to do something stupid.
Then the law history is quite something too. Doflamingo believed that the child(law) is just like him.
Now, I do believe that statement.
Law is ruthless and cruel.
