One Piece Criticisms?

Hello friends. We all know how great an anime One Piece is! However, time and again, some self-confessed "intelligent otaku" alleges One Piece of being overrated, bad, and/or just average.

I think we should form a modern, updated collective resource on the criticisms of One Piece once and for all.

Of course nothing is perfect, there ought to be flaws in One Piece too. So let's accommodate the useful data, or "respectable criticisms" rather than mindless bashing.

Please say what you feel is bad/wrong about One Piece, or what could be considered a flaw or criticism.

One piece,undoubtedly, is a great shonen anime
This is a one piece forum.I don't think people in here, criticize one piece.On the contrary, they like one piece

i think one piece is one of the best anime i have ever seen,it has great plot,awesome characters and its always thrilling and funny

and oda-sensi is not making the story lengthy like naruto and bleach >.>,well thats my opinion

Well..........Unlike others, I read your post and see your point.............As far as the anime is concerned,I think the main criticisms would be that the anime does not have a pacing that a shonen anime should have...............Also, it has a few useless and irritating characters like Usopp and Chopper............Also, here and there, there are some useless parts................And the makers of the anime try to drag the anime to prevent it from catching upto the manga, thus making it quite less interesting than it could be..............I don't read the manga............Overall, One Piece is one of the best anime's I have ever watched and it is one of the few anime's which can never be hated and if someone calls it over-rated, it means they have not watched it, and also, it appeals to all age groups...............

One main point of criticism that even the most enthusiastic fans of One Piece acknowledge is the fact that it is too slow-paced. I have no complaints about the animation. Oda has an original style that sets his work apart from other anime series.
