monochrome factor anime is a shonen ai anime but the manga, is not a shonen ai. at that time, shonen ai was so popular that they decided to add this to the anime.
i disliked reading this manga. is there any other anime like this?

Oh, I had no idea that was a thing. You'd think they would do the opposite and take shonen-ai stories and take out the shonen-ai in order to broad the audience, either way it is a disappointment when they choose a material just to change something like that. What's the point?

As for more anime like that, probably from around that time other anime might have gotten that treatment. What years were when shonen-ai stories became really popular?

i don't know that year wise details but it was certainly a thing in the past. are you excited for 6 lovers?

I don't know much about it but what I understand gives me mixed feelings. It is supposed to be just 22 minutes, not full animation, for the stories that had cd adaptations they seem to have changed the seiyus and it has been delayed so long. I feel a bit iffy on what is going behind escenes, then again I guess it is budgets contrains as I understand Dear+ is not making as much as more broad magazines for such an adaptation. Latest I know is they delayed again further this year. Hopefully it comcomes out well.

Are you familiar with all the stories it is based on? I am not but I am still curious about it.

i read it before but i don't remember, it much. i am not a fan of one shots in a single manga

This is weird.. usually there is differences between anime and manga but usually it's related to story. But changing genre is just unusual
