Boruto is still young, hard to say if it will surpass its source series.

It's not even written by Kishimoto so I don't think there's any comparison. The manga has been getting good reviews lately though. But the anime and the manga are completely different and people like the anime only when it involves the main cast from the original Naruto, like in the last few episodes Sasuke and Boruto time travel and meet young Naruto, Jiraiya, etc and everybody's been talking and memeing it.

That's a very bad story development at this point. I don't think anyone would like it.
