how'd i get to be so good?
I guess its like that for a lot of things. Many people wouldn't have an issue with Zombie movies for instance but a movie that's all about people being raped, I can definitely see it getting banned many places.
I can't think of many reasons why this is honestly. I'm unsure of what yours and Grungies conversation was, but just going entirely by this thread the only thing I can maybe think of is that there's already plenty of movies and animes that feature people dying so people are just desensitized to it.

Tbh the ear and nose picking discussed in that thread was over Gintama, and only done in a way to show Gin is immature, not a Ren and Stimpy sort of way. So I was just really confused on something that’s very tame, especially since you don’t see boogers or earwax as far as I remember, compared to bloody murder scenes you know?
I guess maybe my argument should have been more about the tameness of those scenes compared to "actual" gross out humor, rather than it turning into gross out humor vs murder. Sort of like getting offended at an anime where a woman wears a low cut shirt and a mini skirt, despite fanservice shows existing. Pick on the bigger offender instead of kicking a fuss over the small fry.
