Mob Psycho 100 Episodes 1-4 Discussion

So, what did you think of episodes 1-4? What did you think of the opening and ending songs, and the animation, music?

SPOILER ALERT!!

Opening song:
The opening was amazing. The music, and of course the visuals. As expected from Bones, it's completely amazing. I'll probably watch it for every single episode.
FYI, the opening is called 99

Ending song:
The ending is fully hand-drawn, on glasses, by one person. It was done over a month. Crunchyroll did an interview:
http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-feature/2016/09/04/feature-the-story-behind-the-mob-psycho-100-ending-sequence-miyo-sato-and-paint-on-glass-animation
The ending is called Refrain Boy.

Episode 1:
Obviously, the opening sequence is insane and great to look at. The progression of Mob as he reaches his breaking point and the way the visuals escalate was great to look at. It's revealed that Mob is a psychic who can destroy ghosts, spirits and send them to the after-life. Reigen, a self-proclaimed psychic(and a conman), enlists Mob's help whenever he goes on a job. The first job was kinda funny, and the second job was funny as well as action-packed. It's also revealed that Mob is being conned by Reigen, he isn't given enough money for the work he does, and he is also coerced into believing that Reigen is an actual psychic. Mob is a middle-schooler, so I guess he believes him at this point. Mob is also a loner, and not great at studies or athletics. And, my god, this is like one of the best animated episodes I've ever seen. Bones went all out. Did you all see Saitama around 17:00?
The art is kinda weird, but that's a given. It's drawn by ONE, who also did One Punch Man, and that also has weird art, but when Madhouse adapted it, they had Yusuke Murata's re-drawn published version, and he's like one of the best artists out there. It's actually cool that Bones took the actual original art and animated it as such. And, it also fits, since this deals with psychics and ghosts.

Episode 2:
It looks like almost every character in the show is a variation of Saitama with a wig. It's another slice-of-life-ish episode, and deals with Mob thinking how he wants to live, what club he wants to join, etc. It's kinda funny at the end that he ends up joining the Body Improvement Club. The Telepathy Club president got owned. And, I really like the soundtrack named 'Mob - Explosion of Emotions', played during the exorcism scene at the Basketball court. There was another One Punch Man reference this episode, around the 1 minute mark.

Episode 3:
We kind of get a serious episode. This is a pretty direct one. Nothing much to say, except it was damn entertaining, and that animation during the final fight was beyond amazing. And, as you may have seen, there was a 'Progression towards Mob's Explosion' meter that was going up and up, and it seems like he had surpressed all of his emotions due to him deciding to not show his psychic powers, and when it reached 100%, he let loose all of his rage. And, Mob at 100% kind of looks like Midoriya from My Hero Academia.
And, Bones probably has a goldmine somewhere. Every episode is filled with great animation and Sakuga.

Episode 4:
Well, looks like the first instance of conflict in the series. It seems like we are ending this week's discussion on a cliff-hanger. And, Onigawara looks a lot of Josuke from JoJo Part 4. I haven't seen an episode of JoJo and even I can tell that.
Progression towards Mob's Explosion: 45%.

Well,  I saw 5 episodes so far....and well...I think it's an okay anime. It doesn't have anything special to offer but it's not boring either. So....I am not so sure about anything anymore.

hrmmm, not something I would watch subbed unless it really grew a popular attraction. So is it some kind of ecchi series or just a love story between step sisters?

It's from the same author as One Punch Man so it's to be expected. And obviously Mob is being used as a form of commentary, just like how Saitama was used.

I never thought that. I should have guessed after watching those eyes. They are too way to draw and too familiar to watch

i didn't expect anyone who can get fooled by that fake man who thinks he can exorcise using salt.
but this is funny and i loved this anime.

Did you finish it, and will you be watching season 2?

i finished it. i expected the ending too.
but that fake exorcist somehow made it look like he is the one who did most of the work, which made me mad. i will watch second season too.

Are you talking about Reigen, the blond guy?

You are forgetting that he is just trying to make a living.
Many people who seek exorcists are just delusional and need peace by spending money

Yes this is Reigen:
You didn't like him? He's the favourite character of the series for most people.

I know I love him.

The series is a little slow getting into, but once it picks up its pretty great. I think toonami is on ep 6 so far and I'm starting to love this series.

he is always using the kid and i don't like his humor and that's him in that picture

He's not perfect but he means well for Mob, which is especially evident in the last episode.

Are you watching it weekly on Toonami? Get ready for the epicness that is episode 8. It's about Mob and his younger brother.
