Meruem, from ant to human

Meruem (Hunter x Hunter) the king of Chimera Ants first displayed as a monster, i mean.. a cruel violent creature. I was thinking.. hm so this guy is the one that need to get kick in his ass to clear this arc

But then.. Togashi sensei is again show me his skill as one of the best writer, Meruem is not one dimentional character, he's complex, he's changing subtly and gradually (RIP Naruto talk) from a monster to 'human' by unique way, playing gungi with Komugi (Netero have some credit too)

This subtle and gradual change is something interesting to follow, the plot also looks natural and not in rush. Maybe it sounds weird to you but it's heart warming to see Meruem in rush helping Komugi when she attacked by packed of cross. Yes, at this point the ant king has learn something that unique to human and what differentiate human with another creature : love

The end of the life of the king also one of the most touching scene i've seen. Once again, Togashi sensei made an excellent character
 
I still feel his own change of thought was a bit forced, still though its good to show how any evil can come to know humanity.

It looks smooth to me, i mean.. there is long process on the change
 
That's a great character development right there.
It's a little disappointing to see Mureum die after everything.

His death are perfect, in my opinion his character might decline if he keeps alive. But then again.. who knows, maybe Togashi have brilliant idea to keep him interesting

Well, it was sad.
I couldn't help but feel sorry for him. His life is very short.
 
Chimera Ant arc was a masterpiece in writing for me. The only problem with it was that the middle part with the invasion of the palace gets dragged a bit but otherwise it's easily the best part of an already amazing series.
My only gripe with Meruem was that he was a bit naive at times but I guess it still makes sense on retrospect.

Yes it dan be quicken a bit, and because it is am infiltration mission, it's better if the Zoldyck family given more tipe ini this arc
Well that Meruem is still kid, i mean he literally just born, so it's still okay if he's bit naive, but if he's an adult i'll complaint for sure haha..
