Melo vs Light Yagami?

He did win against Light, but I thought he got help from other people such as Near and others. So yeah, he didn't technically win against Light Yagami.

he never had a chance. he can't even beat n, who is not as intelligent as l. if l didn't have a chance against light, how can melo who is far inferior to l, defeat him?

Melo is intelligent and no one can deny that but you will have to notice that, even after giving it all, he could never beat Near. Light is far more intelligent that Melo can ever be. He could do anything.

This is obvious and I would always think light is the smartest character in that anime. No one can close to his intellect until they join hands with each other.
