Meat?

Can anyone tell me why the main hero is so fond of meat and will do anything to get his hands on the meat? I think it is really bizarre and weird, and I dont know why. lol

I haven't watched enough to know if my theory makes sense or not but here I go.
Since he's a pirate and spend most of his life at sea, meat is kind of a luxury to have. You can't really take a farm of animals with you so I suppose meat, especially beef, is something he likes so much to seize any opportunity at all to have some.

I think Luffy uses up so much energy with his attacks, he gets hungry and just enjoys meat I guess.
