Hey guys, long time reader, first time poster!

I was wondering if you guys have heard of a manga subscription service that ships you manga, then you send it back. Like netflix or gamefly, but for physical manga books. I have been looking everywhere online, bc I thought it would be a cool idea. I am old school, I like to hold the book and not read it digitally. I went up to columbus for my kids to visit the zoo. I also ended up visiting a manga book store in Columbus. While there, an employee told me about a kickstarter that a local guy started with a subscription service just like what I was thinking about.

I wanted to see if you guys thought this was a cool or stupid idea. Seems like it would save money over buying every issue online or at a store. I am tired of paying  $13.99 for 1 issue at my local shop in Cincinnati.

The dude at the bookstore said its gonna have a huge online inventory. I think the bookstore may be helping with inventory or something. The campaign just launched, so I think I am gonna try it. Ill report me feedback here if it gets funded and let you guys know how it is. I am real excited bc I am tired of all the digital manga. I need to hold the book in my hand.

Kickstarter thing I was talkin about has not been publicly posted yet. He told me it will launch on 6th of this month. Ill post it when it pops up.

(In no way am I affiliated with this, just thought it was cool)

I messaged the dude on FB thats running the kickstarter and he gave me some info on it. Sounds pretty cool. looks like if you donate 13 bucks, you can be part of the test launch for july and get 1 manga at a time, but unlimited books per month. If you end up wanting to keep one, its around $6.

What do you guys think?

That's a good idea
I do prefer to read the actual manga rather than the digital version. May I know which series they are going to distribute?

Thats a great question! I would love to know this as well. I will link this thread on FB and see if we can get him to respond and make this an official thread here.

That would be great
And if it's popular shounen manga I would want to take the subscription as well

That's interesting man
Are you sure these are original manga? They can't be so cheap with all the imported costs

Sounds like a great idea, buuuuuut.

It won't work.

I've seen libraries do this but they usually get ruin and put shipping into the mix? The manga books will get wrecked.
