Luffy not talking the spotlight

Do you think there will ever be an arc where luffy doesn't take the spotlight?  When I said spotlight I meant killing the main anti protagonist in an arc
 
he is the main protagonist and what can you expect from main stream anime?
he should always save the day and defeat evil.
