So I finished this series tonight (waiting for the movie to come in) and though I can see why people say it's a bit of a clone of the original Love Live cast, I love it even better than the first. All the relationships, quirks, and just how they act to me is a whole lot better than the first group. Though my complaint, this anime seems to focus more on their daily lives instead of love live itself, there is some focus but I feel not enough for what this show is based on.

Overall I loved it, music was awesome, the shows were true eye candy and everything was beautifully animated.

Never heard of it until now.
I didn't even know, we have a series like this for Love Live.

Tbh it’s oddly a really common thing with people who are fans of battle anime. It’s not that they only watch shows of that genre, it’s the fact they only watch shows of that genre that had AAA tier popularity in the mid 2000’s.

would it be odd to say i never knew much?
i enjoy battles but i don't think it had ever been more than that to me. i don't get into arguments with others fans and i never knew any of this

Back when Sunshine came out I was shocked by how much School Idol project was popular, and then I went into the whole rabid hole of idol anime and generally, they make size-able profits from blu-ray sales and merchandising, a lot more than shonen anime in some cases.

I don't need to watch SIP to understand Sunshine right?

lol that's pretty much how these work
and i wonder if japan really got such culture and i think baby metal already answers that question for me

Lol, Baby Metal fans are some of the most toxic fans I’ve ever seen. It’s a combination of weaboos and metalheads, both of which are already obnoxious on their own, but combined is a Megazord of butthurt.

oh no
really? i have only ever heard this izeme zettai something song and it's really good

You can like Baby Metal, just stay away from their fans.

thank you for the heads-up
i would have had a pretty bad experience with obnoxious fans. back in the day i learned it on naruto base

The reason why the metalhead and weaboo combination is bad, is because both communities are stereotypically associated with fans whose hobby is their personality. It’s not like you have say Jim, who likes metal, it’s Jim the metalhead.

would i be a dork if i were to say i didn't get that reference?
and anime fans usually like to know more about anime culture and bands

It’s not a reference, it’s an example. It’s about how a person has no personality outside of them being a fan of something, in this conversation, metal or anime.

You’d also be surprised at how many anime fans are completely clueless of Japanese culture that’s not related to anime, which leads to a duality if their image of Japan from anime vs how Japan actually is.
