Kurama is a unique character to me

Why unique? Because he use various plants for his attacks. I've seen characters using fire, wind, water, ice, sword, spear, string, cards, orb, energy blast, laser gun or pure energy (or anything else that widely use as weapon) but using plants is kinda rare. Well maybe on newer anime series there is another characters using plants for their attack but i don't know about it for now

Well Togashi sensei kinda good making characters with unique weapon/attack, after Kurama he made Gon with his fishing rod

Oh yea note : Kurama isn't alone as plant user, Yumeji Hisaomi from Kekkaishi is also plant user, well that's his secondary skill.. but still..

using plants to attack is common. even in one piece, usopp uses plants to attack his enemies

I found him to be a huge disappointment, mostly because I knew he had that badass form that he rarely pulled out which I knew would have turned the tide of battles instantly.

The only time he spam Yoko Kurama is when he face Sensui, other than that he seems reluctant

If I recall right, there were some other times but he force the transformation away because he didn't want to use that form.

Imo for some reason I always feel like Togashi purposefully nerfed him and Hiei, always felt he became more comfortable writing secondary characters in Hunter x Hunter.

Yeah but in HxH there's a good sense of power-scaling and he wasn't too concerned about Gon not being powerful enough to defeat someone.
