He is strong and even though he doesn't have a bankai he can take care of powerful opponents and he is a captain.
He is one hell of a strong opponent and if he attains bankai, he can beat ichigo.
Has to be one of my all time favorite characters. He's the kind of character that is in between good and bad. You never know what is going to happen with him because he's so sporadic. He's also very powerful and I think that has an appeal to the audience.
