i think it's similar to naruto's huga clan. i always get the feeling whenever i see use his merman's fist.

I never thought of it that way, to be honest. His style of fighting is unique, just like other strawhats. If this goes on, he might become one soon

That's... actually a good comparison. I'm still waiting to see if Jinbei has more powers up his sleeve.

It's kind of clear that they are building up towards the fact that he's gonna be a member of the crew, though, he didn't really make that much of an impression to me. I would have preferred someone like Vivi. He's probably gonna be the first member I'm gonna be luke-warm on if he joins the Straw-hats that is.
And, yeah, his fighting style is kinda unique, actually. Though, the Hyuga clan focus more on pressure points and here, it's more like raw strength. Kind of like the Rasengan, which is basically raw chakra rotating at an incredible speed.. It damages your internal organs, but doesn't do a lot of external damage(which is Chidori's function).

Well, the filler arc isn't exactly bad but an entire filler arc seems extreme.

The longest filler arc in One Piece is the G-8 arc, with 11 episodes.
