Is there any series that makes you feel smarter from watching it?

Tbh I always find it funny when people think that watching a non-educational show makes them feel smarter, especially because it's always with shows that are either about smart people, so if you get it you're obviously smart, or they name drop references to science, and that also makes you smart because you get it.

Death Note used to be this for quite sometime. Heck even I was like that when I watched it for the first time back in 2012 but I was a dumb teenager.

Tbh I still see people think they’re smart for understanding Death Note’s plot, despite the fact it’s from Shonen Jump and was targeted at like 10 year olds.

The series isn’t rocket science, especially when they basically explain everything. You might not initially catch on, but they tend to explain what they just did.

It doesn’t make you smart when you understand an action in a scene that they explain in detail within minutes.

It’s possible you were kind of half paying attention the first time, and missed when they explained stuff.

I’m just saying it’s not a series where you really have to interpret what’s going on. You might have the initial suspense of trying to figure out how Light is killing people when a camera is on him, but 5 mins later he straight up says he has a piece of the Death Note in the bag of chips.

Half the show is either the characters theorizing on their plans, and then everything goes according to the plan, and then do it, or something happens and then they spend several minutes explaining in detail what they just did.

That’s why I said the show isn’t rocket science, since the characters either tell you exactly what they’re going to do, or tell you what they did right afterwards.

There are many such series man.
I don't remember all of them now but most of the seinen series can be like that
