Is there any difference between overlooked and underrated anime?

I believe there is no such difference between these two things.

Do you guys agree? Or do you think there is a significant different with these two categories? If so, do elaborate here.

not much to say to that
but i think there is a little difference star. overlooked anime doesn't get much attention and criticism but underrated anime gets criticism

I think @Blackangel pretty much summarized it.
Underrated makes me think that people know that it exists but usually don't think much about it while overlooked makes me think that a lot of people don't even know that it exists.

I guess a lot of things are underrated because they get overlooked, if that makes sense.

Basically this

Underrated means that it’s not held in as high of a regard as you feel it is, whereas overlooked means it’s generally forgotten about, or not well known.

You can have cult classics that are highly regarded, but the average person doesn’t know about it, so it’s be incorrect to call it underrated when everyone that knows about it rated it very highly.

lol that's true too
but i think there is a subtle difference to it based on the deliberate effort.
@blackrose

I think you summed it up and there is a difference. When I hear underrated i think maybe some people just didn't get the true essence of the show but overlooked tells me that maybe due to the trailer or pic or even synopsis or some other factor people might have just bypassed it. It's not anime but I have learn't this about a lot of manga and movies. Due to the reviews or advertising pics or synopsis I think dang that just seems like crap but after deciding to check it out anyway it normally shows to be much more exciting than the add. I suppose you could call it mediocre advertising kinda
