Is there a reason why there are so many dead parents in anime\manga?

I really don't get this.

I am not sure why the main protagonist's parents die most of the time. Do you think it's for the encouragement?

it's turned into a meme in the anime community that's not creators and some mangaka, i've seen this kind of humor in manga before. i think it's supposed to add character development not too sure though

you are right

i understand
usually in martial arts anime, parents are there for those kids to guide them further. right?

It's the signature man.
They can't have people helping them and the protagonists should do everything.

It's probably because of the familial bonds can be considered weak by many authors. Without any restraints, the protagonist's power can continue to increase, without any limit.
