Is something authentic if they ship it from Japan?

Is there a chance to get a bootleg even if we get something from Japan?
I found a guy who is willing to send a figure to me at a very cheap price and he is from Japan.
 
If it is very cheap it is probably fake but then again he could be selling it cheaper because its second hand and usually people don't resell for full value but just because its from japan doesn't mean its authentic. I don't know much about figures but it seems from my time looking at the the most expensive ones are the real ones.

Thanks man. I would ask for some images before sending out my payment. He said it's a custom figure of vampire Knight anime and I couldn't hold back my excitement.
 
Could always be good will or just a fake out, maybe just ask for more information before having it shipped to confirm its legit?

there is no such thing as good will at all. they must be either broken or bootlegs or a scam. i wouldn't trust them. even in ebay i got nothing how could i trust someone i don't know. if i were you i will be careful
 
Thank you so much for all the replies. I asked for the pictures and that guy went AWOL on me.
I am not getting my figures.
