Is prioritizing yourself over idealism and friendship makes you a good MC in anime?

I am sure there are many people believe that MC is supposed to have an ideal personality.

It depends on his/her objective, and because of this.. it could make them better or worse character, but definitely makes them different. Personally i think it's refreshing and interesting

Of course yes, I have the same feelings that when it comes to MC, his or her personality should be something that is unique no matter what comes up as a challenge. If the personality is flawed, the MC is ruined for me.
