Is it just me or are reviews with unlikable protagonists have terrible anime reviews?

does the main protagonist needs to be very likeable to get good enough reviews for that anime?

They have terrible reviews sure but not based on the protagonist alone.
It could be for the story and other aspects too and I wouldn't give anyone such a review if it's just me.

and i agree with that but people think it could be a major factor and i just wanted to confirm that first.
