Is death by starvation or dehydration painful while watching anime?

I'm actually unsure if I've ever watched an anime where characters are killed off in such a way. I imagine it can look quite gruesome.

I think dying by starvation is going to be very painful because the whole system will be in pains that are unbearable for the anime character to bear unlike just dying of thirst.

I would go for gore actually. not too much of it, but little bit with some fighting scene is watchable. Starvation or dehydration is rather boring for a movie scene.
