Inner demons in anime

They are hard to get rid of and it's not so easy to overcome like they show in anime.
I don't mind them if they are portrayed accurately.

These are mainly highlighted in wuxia setting. I have seen many cultivation clans in anime and manga and even some novels too and they need to conquer their inner demons to break through stages of cultivation.
