i wouldn't change it at all but i will try to remove the evil natsu part.
Stuff has to be changed from the ground-up if you want drastic improvement. A lot of people enjoyed this series so it's better to leave it alone.
Well, many people disliked the time skip Arc. I am not so sure as I don't follow anime news all that much but some people even here, complained about the story after time skip.

I think the story itself is fine, it just needs a lot more ground work you see in a series like One Piece where things are properly fleshed out. I know we need more attention to characters and how Erza came to have all her armors.
