If there is no anime and only live action, would it have become even more popular?

It's all subjective. Most of the anime fans feel anime is better than any live action, ever made.
Is it's just live action and no anime, it's hard to compare and imagine.

That's hard to say man.
There are things that can only be expressed in anime and using live action can make it too expensive for new and less budget stories.

lol but that's because people always compare other live action with anime.
but what if there is no comparison?

Both anime and live action have specific roles to fill within entertainment. It's a simple matter of fact that there are just some things that are impossible to do in Live Action, that are totally possible within an animated/drawn medium, and anime fills that role very, very well.

Personally, I think that you could take the same plot/story from any anime and with a Hollywood budget turn any Live Action into a thrilling drama action movie, on par with the latest Marvel movies. In fact, I'd argue that this contrast illustrates the fork between the two mediums quite well.

Marvel began as a series of comic book stories. The vast majority of anime begins as a manga story. Marvel clearly falls into the Live Action medium, using real people, CGI, and such. While anime relies upon animators and drawings, although CGI technology is showing prevalence within the animation industry.

I think if Live Action shows had the budget and attention to detail that a major movie production has, Live Action would be considerably more popular.
