I used to discriminate female main protagonist

When i was kid and teen i used to have this syndrome. I was thinking that male is more cooler than female and i don't like show with female as hero, i used to think that they supposed to be support or side kick characters, this is why kid me have trouble with anime like Sailor Moon or Magic Knight Ray Earth (well i did enjoy Sailor Moon, but it was for object of affection, i wasn't saw them as hero equal to Goku or Kenshiro)

As time goes by and i'm matured, that discrimination feeling just gone from me, now i like and respect female main protagonist as well
 
that's good to hear
i am a female and i never had any discrimination. i like female protagonists more than the male protagonists
 
I had a sister so I didn't really care about who the female protagonist was, although I didn't go out of my way to watch stuff that are female-centric.

We are all boys in my siblings so i was doctrinate by masculinity haha..
 
Well that's interesting. I think though it's a phase that everyone goes through as kids.
Girls say girls are better than guys and vice versa. I just don't get why they come up with that but I'm guessing it must have something to do with society. I personally hate that mentality. I mean sure there are certain things that guys might be better at than girls and vice versa but it doesn't mean that any gender is better

I'm not sure too why i was think like that when i was kid, i remember that i was taught that boys and girls are different, no one taught me one is better than the other

Exactly my point, no one really tells kids such things but somehow they always create this belief..idk why

I have an older sister, so when i was a kid she was into Sailor Moon and Magic Knight Rayearth, and I was into Dragon Ball and Pokemon, so I never thought about who was cooler, I think i was more focus on learning the first 150 pokemon from memory XD

Well, not aaaaall of the pokemon by now, but at least up until Genereation 6 and some of Gen 7 (we're about to enter Gen 8 XD)

Well, Pokemon has been a huge part of my life, that's why XD.


And talking about this topic, i wouldn't mind a female Pokemon protagonist :O

there are many female protagonists in pokemon.

You are right! I guess I meant Female Main Character, replacing Ash for a female trainer XD
