Or more like critics about football haha.. yea, critic as usual..
Messi and C.Ronaldo is overrated, seriously. How can that two looks like a godlike? How can that two scored so many goals? How can that two become so famous?
They are good, that is the fact that people can't overlook BUT they play in an era called modern football, where teams put emphasize on ball posession in order to attack AND defend, yea that mean teams try to posses the ball as much as they can TO AVOID conceded, so it's not like the defender can perform good defense and have good defending ability. Another reason is referee, nowadays referee are WAY TOO EASY to give foul, it discouraged defender to give the best of their ability.
Also it's worth to mention that Messi and C.Ronaldo play in La Liga, which never have history of good defending (especially Messi since C.Ronaldo also play with MU and Juventus)
How come they become so famous? Because of marketing. Football is industry now, marketing must be doing their hardest to sell their product. So with the help of the so called modern football, refereeing system and crazy marketing then BAM! Here they are.. and many people forget that when it come to pure skill there were also great players
