I am a Hero, from Hero to Zero

In lot of series, the main protagonist struggle from zero to become a hero. Usually the whole arcs in the series show us the main protagonist molded and shaped into that kind of hero and have his/her glory in the end

But I am a Hero is different, Hanazawa Kengo didn't use that formula, he reversed it to from hero to zero. How so?

Okay so in the beginning our main protagonist Hideo isn't that bad, apart from his mental problem he actually have nice job as mangaka, he even had his moment of success, his series was once quite popular, then he got cute supportive girlfriend. So yup, life isn't that bad for him

Everything just start crumbling when zombies outbreak occurred, he lost his job, he lost his girlfriend, he do get Hiromi and Oda as the story progressed but he lost them too and in the end he live alone in the ruined Tokyo. Yes, all that struggles in the whole series just lead him to unhappiness, just like real life, just because we already do our best it doesn't mean we'll be happy and get what we want in the end

Kinda sour and it's not an popular ending but that's the charm of this series which i like it so much

too many people does that.
story wouldn't progress like they want and they try to make the mc look sad by flunking him in life
