How long does it usually take before a show is re-released as a complete collection?

not sure lol
and if it's popular, then it will be released soon and if it's something like one piece, then it takes even more time.
 
It depends on the popularity of the series
If the anime is really good then it would get a lot of attention and you will see merchandise and box set collections for it
