How do you enjoy your anime/manga?

Do you follow and focus on the journey of the main protagonist or enjoy the storyline as whole?
It's different thing you know
 
i don't remember anymore.
but i think i enjoy it as a whole. i think i enjoy the story but it's not a feeling that i can describe
 
I think it's storyline as a whole, for me man.
I baby think of just enjoying the story of the main protagonist without any good storyline

That means you pay attention to other protagonists and the antagonists too?
 
As long as the characters are interesting and do interesting things it's fine. I don't need an over-arching plot. Also they shouldn't talk a lot, anime constantly has bad dialogues and it's just really awkward to watch it at times. And it's mostly due to the director's inability to understand that it's an adaptation and you don't need to include every fucking thing, it's a different medium and you can communicate the story visually.

Main protagonist adventure alone isn't enough for me.
I need character development, good plot etc, so it's storyline as a whole

That's what i meant by 'journey', main protagonist doing his/her thing
 
i think the preferences change over time as well.
i never thought i would enjoy a straight romance manhwa again
