The closest was watching Rosario Vampire woth someone when we didn't know it had fan service. I was lucky I watched it with someone with a good sense of humour. We had a good laugh once we realized what we were getting ourselves into.

I wonder if Rosario Vampire will ever get the FMA Brotherhood treatment like Fruits Basket. The first season stopped before any semblance of plot happened, and for season 2, they skipped straight to the second manga series and was 90% anime original.
