Have you taken courses or had knack?

I know a family member who has a knack for drawing. She just had the talent for it early on & only got better as she learned newer techniques. So I was wondering, how many of you had the knack for sketching & how many just had the desire & learned? What do you prefer to draw?

I just started drawing. One day about 30 years ago I wanted to make a fan sketch so I gave it a try. It wasn't very good but I kept drawing whenever I could and now am pretty good at it. Not a pro but I get complements. I draw mostly anime and chibi style. I also tend to zoomorphize people. Never took classes just tried different things till it looked like I wanted it to.

I never took any course myself and wouldn't say I had the knack either, it was more if I could draw something I would and if I couldn't I wouldn't bother.

There are some things I can look at and instantly feel I can draw either just looking or using a tutorial but that is about it.
