Have other people ever ruined your anime experience?

it can be through spoilers or just anything else lol
for me, my niece used to play music with high volume years ago, when i watched anime and it was horrible.

A lot of times than I can possibly count.
If you don't watch something and it's an old anime, people think it's alright to talk about it in detail, even when you told them you haven't gotten to that far in the series.

Sometimes when following lets watch threads, someone will spoil something and ruin the experience.

Well, as a young adult with with a one digit age little brother it was really difficult to watch some anime without him finding out and wanting to watch with me so I had to choose between saying no and being exposed to my parents who would demand I let my brother watch and have to admit that I was watching gore or high fan service anime and have a very awkward lecture or say yes and make a call between switching to something else or if he caught on and demanded to watch what I was watching before whether to let him or not.

Fortunately as year passed it became easier and we even bonded watching together some anime I am sure we wouldn't sit with our mother.
