Oh Gosh, I read the "ears placement" comment and it cracked me up with the comparison images chosen. I'd say that's a change for the better, hahah.

It could be just the angle of the drawing, since the first image is him looking straight at you so you wouldn't notice the length. maybe, I haven't seen two thirds or other angles of the same character.Demon_skeith said:
