Hard-work Vs Fate in anime

Most of the time, the main protagonists are all about hard work in anime. I watch battle anime mostly and in them, hard work is pretty much everything man.
Do you think Fate plays a major role in anime? Then, justify your answer :cheers:

They make it as if it's all about hard work but it's undoubtedly fate and luck that makes a protagonist to reach the top.
So I will go with fate here

there is always a saying you can change fate with hard work but that's just a saying
but for anime, it's a hidden rule.
