"????????" simply means "happy birthday" (more literally: "congratulations with the day of your birth").

And each "?" stands for "lol", so for example "???" means "lololol".
I originally wanted to provide only 1 of these, but I had to fill it up because this site complained about having a post that's less than 15 characters long.

At the same time, adding multiple "?"'s gives the illusion of grass growing, which created the slang ? (kusa = grass).
