I heard that gintama manga is getting popular and each chapter is something to talk about. Is it true? Should I start reading this manga? I have never tried gintama until now so I am not so sure at this point.

Gintama is a comedy type/ trolling type (since it 'disturbs' other series). The story becomes more and more seriously recently (still have trolling though).
Anyway, if you like comedy then it is much recommended.

It's a comedy show but it doesn't deserve the first place. That's what I believe.

Of course, currently I'm still following it, though I've to admit many times I couldn't get its jokes.

That's because most of them are perverted jokes or that's what I have heard.
Gintama might be the best but it has many haters too.
I don't hate it but I don't think it has what it takes to get the first place.

The term "hooligan" I normally use to refer people who extremely fan of something and they are curiously rock-headed.
I don't know about other regions but in my place, there are lots of people like that. Just a simple comment and they are like going wild just because my comment sounds negative :v.
