So, Ghost in the shell, it may be sci fi, but at least it's Mecha sci fi and not Aliens hehe, i have to say i watched it with my husband for the first time, but i didn't put it on my list because i wasn't really focused on the movie... i am planning to watch it again, but this time try and dedicate time and effort to watch all the movies, maybe if i'll find the time i'll read the manga first, but overall, even if i wasn't focused on it, the general idea and concept of these movies was awesome! the animation was inovative and new to 1995, and many people i know are fans of this until this day and praise it all the time, now the Live action movie is American, i watched the trailer today, and i have to say, i am pretty interested to know if they wouldn't ruin it like most live actions are ruined because of poor casting and script changes that destroy the idea.

what do you guys think?
you can watch the trailer on youtube and let me know?

I watched the trailer, and I was pretty impressed.... I mean, at least one thing is guaranteed, it won't be as bad as Dragonball Evolution or Avatar: The Last Airbender(not that it's based off an anime)...... It looks very good, except for one scene(where kusanagi turns invisible, I thought that looked kinda cheap), and the cgi, the artwork and everything is done really well.... But, I also find that to be an issue, I mean, the original movie looked dirty..... It was kind of a dystopian cyberpunk, and the city wasn't neat and clean, kind of like Blade Runner(1982)..... I thought doing that would have made it even better..... Other than that, the movie looks well acted, well shot, but, in the end trailers mean sh*t, they can be edited well to give a good look, the only thing that matters is the movie....

I agree, it is too clean, but then again, it's not made by the same director or Mangaka, so most of the western world thinks of the future as clean and tidy... it did bother me as well, wher the camo was a bit cheap looking, i guess i'll just have to wait and see if it really is good, unlike another Live action, this one i'll watch, i really don't think in any way possible that i'd like the American Death Note live action.... i'm actually looking for people who would watch it and give me their opinion hehe don't want to get angry over one of the best shows ever in my eyes ruined in theaters...

Well that cheap looking thing was just a nit-pick, it was for that one shot when she was invisible..... Other than that, the set design and the production value and everything is excellent..... And as far as Death Note is concerned, I don't see how they can adopt a massive plot like that into a 2-hour long movie..... I mean, they would have to cut down many characters and arcs, and it won't add up if they do that..... So, yeah, I'm mostly gonna watch it in theatres, but the problem is the summer of next year is cluttered with many blockbuster releases, so, I have to wait for reviews before I can go to any movie, so, that I won't miss the good ones and watch the bad ones......
