German/European characters in anime

what do you all think about them?
do you somehow like them? or do you think they are a little overrated or underrated? what's your opinion on this?
 
they do seem properly shown, unlike USA characters...

I love when they show Americans and aren’t subtle about where they’re from. Gotta love the overt patriotism and always having flags.

Tbh I can’t tell if Japan is poking fun at us, or legit believe that. Though it’s not super far off with some people... Patriotism is an American pastime USA! USA!

It’s fun seeing Europeans trash talking Americans, but I find it hard to get offended at it. It’s either stuff we already know, like Americans being fat and dumb, or it’s really dumb stuff like “oh look, it’s the Americans, look how much better they are at sports, and how powerful their military is, and how great their movies and music is”, Wait, I thought you guys were supposed to be insulting us, not blow up our ego.

i am sure there are always pros and cons in every country out there and there is no perfect country. wait, i thought you consider yourself an asian grungie? from japan and all

Ethnicity and nationality are two different things. There’s no rule book saying I can’t hug a waifu pillow while simultaneously waving an American flag.

and people try to make 'fun' of people who don't fit in their so called stereo type.

People just love the feeling of being in an exclusive club. Just think of all the gate keeping in basically every fandom. You can’t just be a fan, you gotta enjoy (whatever it is they’re into) the way they enjoy it. I’m a music nerd, and I “love” seeing people say “well you can’t like this song, or this album from that artist that we all love, you’re not a real fan”. Lol okay.

and that makes a lot of sense and until now i haven't been able to put into words.
you are good with words grungie and you don't sugarcoat which is rare.

There aren't too many characters from other countries in anime.
I will have to see if I know any such characters in anime. I remember some character like that in Black butler.
 
yeah i remember too that other butler who can compete with sebastian even though he is a human
and there are characters from america in anime a lot when compared to other country characters.
