Funny main protagonists

why most of the shounen main protagonists are not cold and distant?
sometimes not even cool? is it because that want to spread a word for it?

You mean the mainstream ones huh.. well it's Shonen, they bear the burden to inspired all of the boys who watch them, so they must be faraway from the image of cold and distant character

This is why i usually get more interested with the antagonists and other characters

Ichigo and Light aren't all that goofy. But why do you want them to be cold and distant? That's just kinda edgy and annoying and at times laughable. Plus shounen anime are anyway high voltage so that type of personality won't suit it. Almost all the popular shounen anime in this decade have vibrant main characters. Soma, Hinata, Deku, Senku, Tanjiro, Eren, Meliodas, etc.

I do know that Fujoshi's pair a lot of boys in Haikyuu. As for the silent brooding types they are common in a lot of shoujo anime(almost all of them actually) so it makes sense but when it comes to shounen I'd be happy if they are not abundant.
