So the second season of FLCL airs this Saturday on Adult Swim's Toonami channel, which the second sesason is called Progressive.

What do you hope to see from this new season?
 
I have no expectations whatsoever. I just hope that it doesn't become conventional, since Gainax no longer exists, and the ones who were a part of the original aren't returning, I think.
I'm just gonna watch it blindly and hope for the best.

I'm in the same boat. I don't wanna get to hyped up about it, still hope it will be good though.

same, I am greatly looking forward to it but I won't hold it in the same greatness as season 1.
 
So the first episode aired tonight, overall it had that crazy weird FLCL that we knew and love from the first season (throws bleach into eyes from the skirt scene). My main gripe was that it lacked the music overtone that drive the series like it did in season 1. Or a really strong ending theme either.


Also any guesses who the mom is? Mamimi perhaps?

No Toonami here :/. I'm still waiting for a good 1080P source.

There should be a good source on the toonami reddit site, but I think it only works for USA residents.

Yes. They stopped whatever they are doing in India on 25th May, just a week before FLCL 2 started. So I probably have to wait until the blu-ray hits to watch it properly.
 
I think this is a first where the dub was released before the sub. I remember watching it twice in both sub and dub and it was pretty decent so maybe I'll just watch it dub while it airs.

The first to air dubbed actually belongs to Space Dandy. Not sure what you mean by watching it both dubbed/subbed, far as I'm aware the Japanese version isn't airing till the fall season.

Well since it is only 6 episodes I think I'll just wait for it to all air then just watch it all at once.
 
So as of tonight the anime has concluded, it was wild, it was extremely random and there is so much left unfinished. I hope the next season really brings things to a close.

Overall, a must watch for FLCL fans. I only wish the music was more stronger used.
