I thought people would be mentioning anime streaming websites or characters.
Well, mal is indeed popular
 
Usually the iconic look of Japanese animation whenever someone mentions it. But it mostly depends on the context of the conversation as well.
 
when someone says anime, i think of manga. that's typical of me. i only ever read good manga as the yaoi and shonen ai don't have much anime and manga are plenty
