Early birds

My usual time is 4:00 am, at least until recently.
Now I have the opportunity to change that, so I can move it up to 6:00 am or later soon.

It's hard though, considering the sun goes up at as early as 4:30 am every day.

thankfully I don't have to worry about any more early mornings for a bit, but I see it becoming around 8 AM for me in the near future.

Yes, it was because back in the Netherlands I had to start work at 8:00 am, and taking public transportation into account that would mean I had to leave home at 7:00 am.
In order to have enough time to get myself ready and to check all the messages out (most of my contacts are in Japan, second most in USA, both ways very active during night time in Europe).

Now in Japan I begin my work later and have to travel less.
But despite that, the whole 4:00 am wake up rhythm has remained since I was so used to that.

that sounds tough but do you have to get up by 4 when you have to leave by 7? wouldn't 6:00 am do as a wake up time?

Use binders to windows and have a good night sleep. When do you usually sleep?

Well it's not a matter of waking up and immediately walking outside.
I usually make and eat breakfast, prepare lunch for lunch break, shower, check messages out online, etc.
By the time I'm done with all of this, it's already time to go.

21:00, sometimes 22:00.
But in order to wake up later, I can start getting used to go to sleep later.

That's great then. If it's 23:00 or later, then it would be hard on the body and could get sick often.
I would suggest getting 8-10 hours sleep for everyone

that sounds rough. isn't it easy to get something outside? a light breakfast like scrambled eggs, sandwich are good too

This is not the United States; it's more affordable to make food at home than it is to eat on the go.
Not to mention that eating and walking at the same time is seen as a really bad thing according to the social rules here.

sorry didn't know it. social rule, there? is it a crime to do it? i know people should be extra careful but it's not a crime

It's not a crime, but people will rate you as a rude person for breaking social rules, which is the very reason people stick to these all the time.
Though they aren't as extreme towards foreigners, they also understand very well that people coming from overseas aren't aware of all the rules there are.
But it doesn't mean that foreigners can do whatever they please, because angry faces will still come when it all gets way too far.

i don't want to go there at all not even for looking around. you said you live in japan. do you look like a foreigner?

Of course, and very distinctive too.
But it really isn't as bad as you'd be told.

Yes, people do assume you don't speak Japanese and sometimes get that "uh...oh!" look on their faces.
But when you start speaking Japanese, even if it's very basic, people will be releaved and be more likely to talk to you.

In fact, I've even met up with 2 people I know from Discord a few days ago, and they brought a group of friends with them too.
All underaged folks, all ethically Japanese, talking to a tall-as-fuck white adult with no issues at all.
So it really all comes to your personally rather than your appearance.

will they treat a black woman the same? white people get easy attention but people tend to pick on black people. no matter which country it is

No choice but to get up at 5. I travel by train and I've to travel 50 km so if I have any hope of reaching on time.
